Flava ("we", "our", "us") is operated by Flava app. We offer the Flava mobile application for iOS and Android ("App") and related websites ("Services") on a freemium basis. Your privacy is important to us. This notice explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
- Account & Contact
- Name, email, Apple ID / Google account, authentication tokens — to create and secure your account; respond to support requests.
- Profile & Content
- Photos (including face-masking data), bio, chats, likes, matches — to provide core dating features; enable content moderation.
- Location
- GPS, coarse network location — to show nearby profiles; power Travel & Global Search features.
- Purchase & Usage
- In-app purchases, subscription status, feature interactions, crash reports — to fulfil transactions; improve features; fix bugs.
- Device & Log
- IP address, device model, OS version, error logs, cookies, and device identifiers — for security, fraud-prevention, diagnostics, and analytics.
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes above or to comply with legal obligations.
2. Face & Camera Data
To mask or blur faces in private-chat photos, Flava detects head and face position on your device, where this feature is available. On iOS this uses Apple's TrueDepth API. In all cases, processing occurs in real time on your device — no facial maps, depth data, or images ever leave your device, and we do not store this data permanently or share it with third parties.
3. Third-Party Providers
We share only the data required to operate the Service. Each provider is contractually bound to keep data confidential and secure. These providers may receive technical, device, and usage data as part of delivering their service.

4. Legal Bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)
- Contract — to deliver the Service you request.
- Legitimate Interest — to protect users, prevent fraud, and improve the App.
- Consent — for push notifications and precise location; you can withdraw consent anytime in Settings.
- Explicit Consent — where you choose to share lifestyle tags, preferences, or other details that may reveal information about your sex life or sexual orientation, we process this special-category data only on the basis of your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time by editing your profile or deleting your account.
- Legal Obligation — to meet tax or regulatory requirements.
5. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your region, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data and to object to certain processing. EEA/UK users: email support@flava.app with your request. We respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
US / California residents: you have the right to know, access, delete, and correct your personal information. We do not sell your personal information, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. To exercise them, email support@flava.app.
6. Account Deletion & Data Retention
You can delete your account at any time from the App menu (Settings → Delete account). You can also request deletion without the app by emailing support@flava.app. Upon deletion, your profile, photos, matches, and chat history are removed immediately. We retain your email address and minimal technical data (such as transaction records) for up to 6 months for fraud prevention and legal compliance, after which it is permanently erased. If you wish to have all data removed sooner, email support@flava.app and we will process your request within 30 days.
7. Cookies & Similar Technologies
The App itself does not set cookies, but our website and third-party SDKs may. You can refuse cookies in your browser or device settings; some features may not function without them.
8. Data Security
We use encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+), hashed & salted passwords, least-privilege access controls, and routine security audits. While no method is 100% secure, we follow industry best practices to protect your data.
9. Data Transfers
Your information may be processed on servers outside your country, including by the third-party providers listed in Section 3, some of whom operate outside the EEA/UK. When transferring data outside the EEA/UK, we rely on standard contractual clauses or other lawful safeguards.
10. Age Limit & Child Safety
Flava is strictly for users 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE); see our Terms & Conditions for our child-safety standards and reporting channels. If you believe a minor has provided personal data or that any CSAE content exists on the platform, email support@flava.app and we will act immediately.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this notice from time to time. The latest version will always be available at flava.app/privacy. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
